If you live in the Toronto area and you can get to one of our stores this weekend, it will be worth your while!

We have a store-wide sale that we'll be running in all of our stores (minus our Ontario Science Centre gift store and MastermindToys.com). This sale is also going to feature one of our premier lines of spring/summer outdoor toys, namely Sunny Patch Toys by Melissa and Doug!

Ok so here's the scoop: this Saturday and Sunday, May 1st and 2nd 2010:

Save 10% off of your entire purchase when you spend $25 or more including any 1 Sunny Patch Toy

Save 15% off of your entire purchase when you spend $40 or more including any 1 Sunny Patch Toy

This sale is perfect for stocking up on toys for the season! All you have to do is meet either of the spending thresholds (either $25+ or $40+), and your purchase has to include any 1 Sunny Patch Toy. Now, frankly, your purchase would probably have a Sunny Patch toy anyway, since once you have a look at this line we think you'll really love it! It is filled with great toys for the outdoors, sand & water toys for the beach, pool or bathtub, great bug and nature toys, and a really unique line of garden toys for kids, too! What's more, the vast majority of Sunny Patch Toys are priced under $10, and they start at just $4.95!

So think about it: if you have your eye on an item in our stores that's $49.95, and you add a $4.95 Sunny Patch Toy (say the Seahorse Sifter for the beach!), you save 15% off of your entire purchase of $55... that's $8.25, bringing your purchase down to $46.75!! You save AND you get a great Sunny Patch Toy! And the toy can be PART of your total for this promo... in other words, if you choose a $19.95 item and a $4.95 Sunny Patch toy, you still save 10%! The Sunny Patch item COUNTS toward your total!

OK, so let's take a look at what you're going to need to stock up on for the season: well, kites and flying toys for sure, those are awesome; ride-on toys like trikes and wagons, sure would be great to save 15% there; and it's going to rain at some point so games and great books would help with cabin fever; and why not some Lego, Playmobil and Thomas the Tank?? You can save on everything in-store! Well, almost everything... gift cards don't apply for this promotion. But I've always wondered how you play with a gift card anyway, better to go with a flying toy!

So check out our Sunny Patch Selection and I'm sure you'll find TONS of great items, and if you haven't already, watch Lisa the Toy Whiz show-and-tell the line in our video!

Hope to see you this weekend!

Attention Readers! We are once again holding our Winter Book Sale at Mastermind!

Our Mastermind Toys stores are up here in Toronto, Canada, home of the world's coolest tall building (you may have a tall tower, Dubai, but ours looks like a ROCKET SHIP) and also the NHL's saddest hockey team (siiiiiiiigh), and the winter months tend to drag on. People here know that this is the best time to grab a book, fake sick so you can stay home from school or work (I'm pretty sure our bosses won't read this... right?), and curl up by a fire. So what better time for a giant book sale??

The reason we have this sale, where you can buy a huge selection of books in any of our bricks and mortar stores at 40% off, is that we are constantly adding new and exciting titles to our lineup, so we often have to move out some of our older stock. These are all still great books for kids... junior novels, story books, and more... and it's a great opportunity to grow the library. The sale runs for only a couple of weeks, and it's only available in the stores.

So if you're in our area, drop into the stores to grab some great kids books, talk about the rocket-like quality of the CN Tower, and bemoan the Maple Leafs and their resolute stance on not winning (siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh).

Also... is it just me, or does the image of the glasses on top of the pile of books make that look like a book monster with an angry mouth? "I eat grammar for BREAKFAST rrrrrr"

This one is awesome such a great deal...

OK, who likes beads? Correct: everyone. And in keeping with Melissa and Doug month at Mastermind, we have ANOTHER great promo for the weekend!

Here's the scoop: we have a Rainbow Alphabet bead kit that normally retails for $17.95... it is a self-contained kit that comes with a ton of beads, gimp, and clasps to make bracelets, necklaces, friendship crafts and anything you can think of! And the special deal? Just $7 each! That's $11 off!

Here's how you take advantage:

If you're in the greater Toronto area close to one of our stores, click here for a coupon you can print and bring in store!

If you're not close to one of our stores and want to take advantage of the offer online, click here for the secret link to MastermindToys.com!

The limit is 2 per customer in-store or online... otherwise 1 person would probably buy hundreds to fill their swimming pool with beads. It could happen.

Hope you love this great promo as much as I do! You can tell I really love it... just look at how happy I am in my picture:)
