While at the New York Toy fair, we came across A LOT of fun new toys. We would like to introduce one if them here. I would like introduce to you, the game Morphology (MM# 109553, $39.95, 4 or more players, in stores now!). Think: a mix between Pictionary and Cranium.

To play, the game board is spread out and teams are made. You will need at LEAST 4 people to play (1 person on each team to be the “Morphologist” and another to guess).
The team that goes first picks a card from the top of the pile and chooses either from the “Hard” side or the “Easy” side. Then the timer is flipped and using the objects that come with the game (string, glass stones, popsicle sticks etc.), you have to create that word. The other team member tries to guess what they are creating. If you can guess correctly, you get to move ahead one space. For example, Water Ski might look like:

This continues for the first two rounds. Then comes the challenging part. When it is your team's turn to go and you land on the space that says “Roll”, you must roll the die to find out what your next challenge is. For example, if you roll a 3, you can create your word using ONLY your non-dominant hand (in my case, I would have to use my left hand!). If you roll a 4, you only get to use the string (and nothing else)!

The great thing about this game is that there is a little something for everyone. It is especially great if you are not exactly artistic (like me!). However, I am NOT saying it is easy, trying to create "Yoga" with only string or when you roll a two and have to create "Taco" with your eyes closed!

The game has a suggested age of 13+, however, with a little help from Mom and Dad or an older sibling, kids as young as 8 would be able to play. This game creates great team building and makes a fantastic family game! The creator of Morphology also has a fantastic

website where you can submit pictures of your own creations, or get ideas!

Below are some more examples of what can be done. See if you can guess what they are!

I highly recommend this game for anyone who is looking for something different, challenging and fun!
